How we are building a:

The Conservatives have a clear plan to take back our streets and combat crime:

• Deploy 10,000 extra police and introducing hotspot patrolling of 2,000 of the highest crime areas to prevent 35,000 crimes
• Triple Stop and Search to take knives and drugs off the streets and arrest 300,000 more criminals
• Roll out Live Facial Recognition in crime hotspots across the country to catch 24,000 wanted criminals
• Introduce ‘Immediate Justice’ community sentences issued by police so those committing lower-level offences clean up graffiti, and our streets and parks
• Crack down on public cannabis consumption. Mandating police enforcement and introducing automatic referral to the Magistrates’ courts for a second offence
• Put public safety first when dealing with mentally ill people. Overhauling Labour’s Mental Health Act and rebalancing from an obsessive focus on racial targets to put public safety first
• Curb riding dangerous e-bikes and e-scooters on our pavements. Requiring police to always intervene and enforcing increased penalties
• Stamp out ghost plates. Legislating for greater criminal consequences for manufacture, sale and use of ANPR-evading number plates
• Clamp down on anti-social behaviour on public transport, with tougher enforcement on trains and extended powers for buses
• Expand rural crime taskforces to tackle tool theft and farm crime which cost businesses £44 million in 2024
• Ensure police spending more time on more time on policing streets, and less time policing tweets, by scrapping Non-Crime Hate Incidents

High Streets are struggling

High taxes. Punitive Business Rates. Soaring energy costs. Rising crime. More paperwork.

When our high streets struggle our communities fall into decline.

We will:

• Abolish business rates for thousands of high street businesses, including pubs and shops
• Cut electricity bills for local businesses with our Cheap Power Plan
• Hire 10,000 extra police to crush crime on our high streets
• Establish a National Pothole Patrol to deploy modern, specialist road-repair machines at scale, on our high streets and beyond
• Cut red tape for businesses by repealing Angela Rayner’s Unemployment Act
• Defend key pillars of the community such as post offices, pubs and pharmacies

Following a detailed report from Shadow Attorney General Lord Wolfson, the Conservatives have concluded that Britain must leave the European Convention on Human Rights.

• It stops us deporting foreign criminals and protecting our veterans from vexatious legal claims
• It prevents us from putting British citizens first in social housing and public services
• It blocks Parliament from ensuring sentences reflect its intentions
• It stops us getting the homes and infrastructure Britain needs built

Leaving the ECHR will be challenging and complex. It will require a review of over 30 years of domestic legislation and international obligations, and a union-wide approach, particularly with respect to Northern Ireland.

Only the Conservative Party has done the necessary work to ensure this is delivered in an orderly and responsible way.

So Britain can chart a brighter future outside the Convention where British politicians, accountable to voters, make the law, not overseas judges.

Once Britain has left the European Court of Human Rights, we will be able to implement our BORDERS plan a tougher and more detailed strategy than anything proposed by other parties.

• Ban asylum claims for illegal entrants

• Removals Force established, to remove 150,000 per year
• Deport all new illegal arrivals within a week, and all foreign criminals
• End the Immigration Tribunal, Judicial Review and legal aid for immigration cases

• Support our allies abroad to prevent illegal entry into Europe

We announced our Deportation Bill earlier this year and are now able to go further developing stronger policy on legal immigration, enabled by Lord Wolfson’s review and our decision to leave the ECHR.

We will say more on cutting legal immigration in due course.

We will always put Britain’s national interest first by ensuring our foreign policy strengthens our sovereignty, defends our allies, and advances British prosperity and security worldwide.

A Conservative Government would:

• Reinstate the two child benefit cap, saving £3.2 billion a year, of which, under our Golden Economic Rule, half would go to deficit reduction and the remaining £1.6 billion would be allocated directly to defence spending
• Prioritise investment in defence by reallocating up to £50 billion of funding currently spent on costly environmental projects through a Sovereign Defence Fund
• Support service personnel through a new Armed Housing Association
• Stand with our allies, make tough choices and put the British national interest first

Labour is doing real damage to our country’s standing in the world right now. As an opposition we have consistently stood up for the national interest and demanded they do the same:

• We’ve forced Labour to pause their catastrophic £35 billion Chagos Surrender Deal. We will continue to fight against the deal until Labour abandon it entirely.
• We are pushing Labour to spend 3% of GDP on defence now, not in 2031
• We’ve consistently backed Israel’s right to defend itself from terrorism
• We’ve been clear that the future sovereignty of Greenland must be for the people of Greenland to decide
• We’ve been clear that, with Iran attacking British military assets, the government must act to defend our bases and our personnel
• We’ve opposed Labour’s plans to allow China to build a “super embassy in London”
• We’ve pushed for transparency on the collapse of a trial involving two men accused of spying for China
• We reject Labour’s Brexit capitulation that would turn Britain back into a rule-taker from Brussels

The NHS will remain free at the point of use under a Conservative government.

That is only possible with a strong economy and leadership with the backbone to ensure the NHS works for patients, taxpayers and staff.

Labour have allowed NHS strikes to continue despite a 28.9% pay rise.

Enough is enough.

The Conservative Party will legislate for minimum service levels and ban doctors from striking to protect patient safety.

• Abolish the Sentencing Council and make the Lord Chancellor accountable for sentencing
• Reform the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office
• Restore discipline in prisons so officers, not inmates, are in control
• Abolish the Judicial Appointments Commission, returning responsibility for appointments to the Lord Chancellor, accountable to Parliament

• Introduce a zero-tolerance approach to violence and poor behaviour in schools
• Defend decades of cross-party education reforms that have driven up standards
• Push for a nationwide ban on smartphones in schools to better protect learning and mental health
• Continue campaigning for justice for victims of grooming gangs, including full transparency through the publication of offender ethnicity data
• Propose restrictions on social media for under-16s to better protect childhood wellbeing and safety
• Establish a Child Cruelty Register to prevent people convicted of child cruelty from repeating their crimes against other children unchecked

The Conservatives believe in individual liberty and personal responsibility.

• Scrap “Non-Crime Hate Incidents” that waste police time and threaten free speech
• Oppose and scrap Labour’s plans for digital ID cards
• Vote against smoking bans and the so-called “Banter Ban” that would force landlords to police conversations
• Commission Lord Young of Acton to examine threats to free speech in everyday life, reporting later this year

Separatism is on the rise in our country. For too long Britain has been too complacent about our culture and too tolerant of those weaponising identity politics for their own gain. We have ended up with a mess of competing cultures, parallel institutions and rising extremism.

We are in desperate need for a positive, constructive alternative where people know what they are integrating into and the end the pretence that all cultures are equally valid. That means bringing people in Britain together around a common British culture and identity.

We have already announced that the next Conservative Government would ban election materials in foreign languages. These materials serve to divide communities, note unite them around a common culture.

But this is only the beginning of our efforts. We have launched a Cultural and Integration Commission that will report back this Autumn with specific actions. We will be working with leading experts to tackle the most difficult questions across equality, human rights, education, social cohesion and free speech.

The Conservatives are the only party with a plan to restore confidence in our institutions and pride in our country.
