Disability Confident

CCHQ is dedicated to taking reasonable steps to remove employment barriers for disabled people. We are taking all of the core actions to be a Disability Confident employer by continuously looking at ways to recruit and develop candidates for CCHQ. We operate a Disability Confident scheme for all disabled persons.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Conservatives believe that anyone in this country should be able to achieve anything, no matter where they live or come from. We want to ensure that everyone has the equal opportunity to go as far in life as their ambition will take them. We do not believe that any group is less intrinsically capable than any other – we know that while ability is spread across the country that has not always been the case when it comes to opportunity.

As a Party, we are committed to being a successful, caring and welcoming place for all staff, officers, elected representatives, members and volunteers. We want to create a supportive and inclusive environment where all those in the Party can reach their full potential, without prejudice and discrimination. We are committed to a culture where respect and understanding is fostered, and people's different backgrounds and circumstances are positively valued.

The Party’s policies and the Party’s Code of Conduct aim to achieve equality by removing any potential discrimination whilst working towards its dedicated goal of actively encouraging and promoting equality of opportunity across the Party. As part of our commitment, we will provide training and development to all CCHQ staff and Voluntary Party officers and the Party will do all it can to promote good practice in this area as far as is reasonably possible.

Gender Pay Statistics

Successive Conservative governments have taken action to ensure that the gender pay gap is eliminated. As part of this, we have called on companies, both small and large, to publish their gender pay gap data to shine a light on pay inequalities and the reasons behind them.
