Yesterday Kemi told Keir Starmer to sack Peter Mandelson as Britain's Ambassador to America. Instead, he said he had full confidence in Mandelson.
Now he's finally gone.
Over the last few days, disturbing connections between Mandelson and the convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein have emerged.
Mandelson's intimate relationship with Epstien, including calling him his 'best pal' - made him unfit to hold the office of HM Ambassador.
At a time when Russia has made an incursion into the airspace of a NATO ally, threatening the whole of the West, our man in Washington was more preoccupied with his political survival.
Anyone could see that Mandelson's position was untenable. Once again, Starmer's own judgement has failed him.
And while Mandelson might now be gone, the Prime Minister must now publish all of the documents relating to Peter Mandelson’s appointment as Ambassador.
