Conservatives force Labour into Winter Fuel U-turn

Labour finally caved.

Under pressure from Kemi Badenoch in Parliament today, Keir admitted he’ll reverse the decision to cut Winter Fuel Payments.  

And revisit the threshold to allow “more pensioners” to qualify for the payments again.  

A massive step in our campaign to reverse the winter fuel cuts and protect our pensioners.

Thank you to the over 300,000 people who signed our petition.  

And those who phoned their MPs, shared our content on social media and generally kicked up a fuss.  

Together we made a huge difference and helped protect the UK’s most vulnerable.  

But we cannot celebrate too early.

It’s not been announced yet what the new winter fuel payment threshold will be, but we have to scrutinise Labour’s U-turn.  

And ensure they don’t leave vulnerable pensioners out in the cold ever again.  

Because even with this U-turn, Labour have proven that they can’t be trusted.
