Conservatives force Digital ID U-turn

After months of Conservative pressure and campaigning Keir Starmer has been forced to abandon his plans for compulsory Digital ID.

What was sold as a tough measure to tackle illegal working and an ‘enormous opportunity for the UK’ would really have become a massive burden for the British public.

Labour just can’t seem to get anything to stick.

From Digital ID, to scrapping Winter Fuel Payments, they've been forced by Conservatives, working with ordinary people, into more U-turns than a seasoned stunt driver.

We’re only two weeks into 2026 and this is Keir Starmer’s FOURTH U-turn.

It’s clear that Labour don’t have any idea what the British people want.

Only the Conservative Party has the backbone, plan and team to restore sense to public policy.
