Labour have been forced into yet another U-turn. This time on proposals to close post office branches across the country.
This would have had a severe impact on local communities. Post Offices form a vital part of local high streets, and they helped communities stay connected during the pandemic.
And from helping our pensioners manage their bank accounts after many banks closed branches. To offering vital services to those without internet access. The post office is an overlooked pillar of local communities.
And after Conservative pressure in parliament and from the general public, Labour have backed down, pledging to keep 11,500 local post offices open. This is their 18th U-turn since they took office.
Thank you to the over 180,000 people who signed our petition to protect our post offices.
While Labour continues to try and close vital services and the other parties stay on the sidelines. We will continue to fight for our communities.
