Kemi has now completed changes to her Shadow Cabinet.
As we move on from rebuilding from the 2024 General Election, we are now focused on building a platform for the next General Election and beyond.

Andrew Griffith is the new Shadow Chancellor. Andrew built his career in business before entering politics. He understands what it takes to get businesses investing, hiring and growing. He will form the new Economic Unit alongside new Shadow Business Secretary Claire Coutinho MP and Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury Richard Fuller MP.
Alex Burghart is the new Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party and the Opposition. A close adviser to Kemi Badenoch, Alex will also continue as Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary, playing a key role in getting the Conservatives ready for government.
Chris Philp remains Shadow Home Secretary. Working alongside Nick Timothy, Chris will spearhead our plans to make our streets safer, secure our borders and restore consequences in society.
Damian Hinds is the new Shadow Health and Social Care Secretary. An experienced former Cabinet Minister, Damian will lead our work to improve outcomes for NHS patients and ensure taxpayers get value for money. He will represent the Conservatives in the cross-party talks on reforming social care, while opposing tax rises or more borrowing to fund changes.
James Cartlidge remains Shadow Defence Secretary. James will continue to lead our plans to strengthen our Armed Forces, ensure defence is properly funded and keep Britain secure.
Katie Lam is our new Shadow Housing, Communities and Local Government Secretary. Katie will lead our work to get Britain building while standing up for local communities, and ensuring local government works effectively for people across the country.
Nick Timothy remains Shadow Justice Secretary. Having led the fight against Labour’s early release of serious criminals, Nick will work alongside Chris Philp to put victims first, keep the public safe and restore consequences in society.
Claire Coutinho becomes Shadow Business and Trade Secretary. With experience in business and the Treasury, Claire will work at the heart of our economic unit to create a stronger economy and to tackle the cost of living. Working alongside Andrew Griffith and Richard Fuller, Claire will put business, investment and growth at the heart of our plan to get Britain working again.
Tom Tugendhat is our new Shadow Foreign Secretary. From serving his country in uniform to his time as Security Minister, Tom brings unrivalled experience and credibility to representing Britain on the world stage.
Andrew Bowie is the Shadow Energy Secretary. A leading voice for restarting North Sea oil and gas and expanding nuclear power, Andrew will put cheap, reliable energy at the heart of our plan for a stronger economy.
Victoria Atkins remains Shadow Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Secretary. Vicky has been a powerful voice for British farmers, helping force Labour into a partial U-turn on its damaging Family Farm Tax.
Laura Trott remains Shadow Education Secretary. Laura led our campaign for a social media ban for under-16s and our plans to end unfair interest rates for graduates on Plan 2 student loans. She’ll continue fighting for better education and a fairer deal for young people.
Helen Whately remains Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary. Helen has done the detailed work to produce our plans to cut £23 billion from the welfare bill, making the system fairer for taxpayers and getting Britain working again.
Richard Fuller remains Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury. Richard will be a key part of our economic team, making sure we are fiscally responsible and treat taxpayers with respect, not as cash machines like Labour.
Joy Morrissey is the new Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities. Joy will be a strong voice for women and girls, standing up for their rights, safety and dignity. She will ensure we reinstate and protect equality under the law as we leave the ECHR.
Richard Holden stays on as Shadow Transport Secretary. Richard will put drivers first, pushing for better infrastructure and a transport system that helps people get to work and businesses grow.
Harriet Cross is our new Shadow Scottish Secretary. Harriet will be a strong voice for Scotland, focused on delivering for people across the country, growing the economy and standing up for Scotland’s place in our United Kingdom.
Mims Davies remains Shadow Welsh Secretary. An experienced campaigner and former Minister, Mims will champion Welsh communities and ensure Wales has a strong voice around the Shadow Cabinet table.
Rebecca Paul is the new Shadow Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Secretary. Rebecca will champion Britain’s creative, media and sporting sectors and the important contribution they make to our economy.
Neil O’Brien remains Shadow Minister for Policy Renewal. Neil is at the heart of turning Conservative ideas into serious, deliverable plans, doing the detailed work needed to get the Conservatives ready for government.
Rebecca Harris remains Conservative Chief Whip. Rebecca’s hard work has helped build a more united Conservative Party and shown why the whipping system remains an important part of our democracy.
Jesse Norman remains Shadow Leader of the House of Commons. An experienced parliamentarian, Jesse will continue making sure Conservative voices are heard and Labour is held to account in the Commons. He will also lead our push to ensure any restoration work is essential and delivers value for money.
John Glen remains Parliamentary Private Secretary to Kemi Badenoch. A trusted and experienced member of the team, John will continue working closely with Kemi and the Parliamentary party as we get the Conservatives ready for government.
Lord True remains Shadow Leader of the House of Lords. A hugely experienced Conservative, he will continue leading our team in the Lords. Having successfully challenged.
