Vote on Thursday to break the gridlock

Two days before polling day, the Prime Minister is taking nothing for granted – whilst the Conservatives only need to gain 9 seats to get an overall majority, Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the SNP only need to gain 12 more to put Jeremy Corbyn in Downing Street at the head of a coalition with two more chaotic referendums and continued gridlock for this country.

Three years ago 17.4 million people for Brexit in a referendum that both sides said would be once in a generation and all parties said they would respect. Only the Conservative Party have a plan to get Brexit done – and it is only when Brexit is done that we can unleash Britain’s potential, focus on the people’s priorities like schools, hospitals and tackling crime and take advantage of the opportunities that Brexit provide.

On Tuesday he will take this message to Staffordshire where he is expected to say:

‍“The stalemate in parliament has held this country back for too long.

“Instead of concentrating on your priorities, Westminster has been mired in division and deadlock. Politicians have spent so much time shouting at each other and devising ways of wriggling out of Brexit that they have neglected the issues people care about.

“It’s time to send in the bulldozers and smash through the gridlock

“But the only way to do that is to vote Conservative. The danger of another hung parliament is clear and present. There are sophisticated and well-financed attempts underway to prevent a Conservative majority through tactical voting.

“Jeremy Corbyn and his Lib Dem, nationalist and Green allies need only 12 more seats than last time to make Jeremy Corbyn Prime Minister and continue the chaos of a hung parliament. A vote for any of these parties is a vote for further indecision and two more referendums, on Brexit and Scottish independence.

“We’ll be stuck in this limbo, this first circle of hell, for the foreseeable future.

“On the other hand, the Conservatives need only 9 more seats for a majority. We could finally get Brexit done, end the uncertainty and move on.

“That is the choice and it could go either way – 12 seats in one direction and the nightmare will continue indefinitely; 9 seats in the other direction and we can break free.

“And if we do break free, there’s a bright future waiting for us with all the opportunities of Brexit.

“There’s a land of opportunity awaiting our countryside, as we replace the discredited Common Agricultural Policy with new support for farmers and the environment.

“There’s a sea of opportunity awaiting our fishing men and women, as we reclaim control of our sovereign waters.

“And there’s a whole world of opportunity awaiting businesses, as we forge a new trade policy designed in the UK’s best interests.

“Our fantastic new Australian-style points-based immigration system will attract exceptional talent to our shores while giving us control over low-skilled migration.

“Our economy is straining at the leash, with billions of pounds of investment ready to pour into this country if we clear the blockage

“We’ll be able to invest in our towns and cities using the money we’ll no longer be sending to Brussels.

“We can literally rip up the EU rule book and write a new one for ourselves.

“We can do all this and so much more if we regain our independence – we just need to vote for it, one more time, this Thursday.”
