We're freezing fuel duty for the ninth year in a row

For millions of people, their car is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.

That’s why today, the Prime Minister will confirm that in the Budget later this month the Chancellor will freeze fuel duty – a tax on petrol and diesel – for the ninth year in a row.

This is just one of the ways we’re helping with the cost of living.

Putting money in the pockets of hard working people from a Conservative Government that is on their side.

We’ve also cut income tax for millions of workers.

Introduced a National Living Wage.

And extended free childcare.

As well as keeping our economy strong to help create more, higher paying jobs in every part of our country.

The difference it makes to have a little bit of money left to put away at the end of the month isn’t measured in pounds and pence.

It’s the joy and precious memories that a week’s holiday with the family brings. It’s the peace of mind that comes with having some savings.
