This Thursday, people across England will vote to decide who runs their local services - and who manages the money they pay for those services.
So, why should you vote Conservative?
1. LABOUR CAN’T RUN LOCAL SERVICES
In Labour-controlled Birmingham, bins have gone uncollected and rubbish has piled up in the streets.
In Labour-controlled Ashfield, Labour spent £3 million SHRINKING bins. And fly-tipping has shot up.
In Labour-controlled Haringey, plans for more houses were shelved – because Labour are fighting amongst themselves.
2. LABOUR COST YOU MORE
In some councils, Labour charge you DOUBLE the council tax that neighbouring Conservative councils charge.
Like in Labour-controlled Merton, where Band D council tax is £1,463. Compared to Conservatives in Wandsworth, who charge £717.
3. CONSERVATIVES DELIVER STRONG LOCAL SERVICES
Conservatives work with people just like you to deliver the services residents need.
In Westminster, we’re collecting bins twice a week. And keeping all the libraries open.
In Trafford, we’re investing millions of pounds to fix EVERY road and pavement in the borough.
In Dudley, we’ve introduced two-hour free parking. And reversed Labour’s cuts to street cleaners.
4. CONSERVATIVES COST YOU LESS
Conservatives councils across the country charge on average £100 less in council tax for a Band D property than Labour AND Lib Dems.
In some councils, Conservatives charge you HALF the council tax that neighbouring Labour councils charge.
5. CONSERVATIVES ARE BUILDING A BRITAIN FIT FOR THE FUTURE
By backing local businesses, so locals get the jobs they need.
By delivering 1.9 million more good or outstanding school places, so your children have the best possible start in life.
By protecting our parks and public spaces, so you and your family have a cleaner and greener environment.
And by keeping your tax low, so you’ve got money in your pocket to spend on yourself and your family.
