Stephen was born in 1970. Comprehensive-school educated, he won an assisted place at Canford School in Dorset to do his A Levels, before moving to Oxford where he read for two law degrees. After a short stint in the Army, he was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 1993. He was appointed Queen’s Counsel and made a Crown Court Recorder in 2009. He has three young children and splits his time between his home in Lincolnshire and Westminster.
He was first elected to represent the people of Sleaford & North Hykeham at the 2010 General Election with a majority of nearly 20,000. Local Conservatives are working hard to ensure that this part of Lincolnshire benefits fully from economic recovery.
Conservative-controlled county and district councils are working together to achieve critical improvements, as well as to encourage enterprise to create jobs. We will continue to fight to ensure that local people get the good local public services they deserve.
