Chris Kelly

Member of Parliament for Dudley South

Chris was born in 1978 in Wolverhampton in the Black Country. He attended Wolverhampton Grammar School and Oxford Brookes University where he gained a degree in politics and modern history. Upon graduation Chris joined his family firm, Keltruck Limited, which is based in the Black Country, where he had previously always worked during holidays and on Saturdays. Three years later he attended the Imperial College Business School where he gained an MBA.

Chris’s involvement over many years in his family business has given him an invaluable insight into the challenges faced by Black Country businesses. Chris's other interests include sport, fitness and travelling. He ran the 2012 London marathon for Dudley charities.

Chris is the founder Chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Family Business and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Combating Metal Theft. Chris has been a member of the Conservative Party since 1996 and was elected to Parliament in May 2010. He is a member of the House of Commons European Scrutiny (Select) Committee.

Dudley South is a great place to live and work. Chris is putting the Dudley South constituency and the interests of local people first by campaigning on the issues that matter locally, whilst giving a strong voice to Dudley South in Parliament.

Local Conservative Councillors and activists continue to campaign with Chris on a variety of issues in the constituency including:

• Reducing traffic congestion and bottlenecks
• Investing in our NHS and new cancer drugs
• Beating crime and tackling anti-social behaviour
• Improving our public services

Chris holds regular constituency advice surgeries and regularly visits local schools and other public bodies. In addition Chris has set himself the task of visiting as many of the several hundred businesses that are located within Dudley South as possible. As someone with a background in business he knows that only these private enterprises can generate the growth we need in Dudley South to provide more employment opportunities for local people and to help reduce the deficit and debt left by the last Labour Government. Chris is determined to offer all the support he can to these businesses as the local MP.
