Ben Wallace

Member of Parliament for Wyre and Preston North

Ben and his wife Liza live in north Lancashire with their three children.

Before entering Parliament, Ben served for 8 years in the Scots Guards seeing service in many locations including Northern Ireland, Central America and Germany. At 21 on his first operational tour, Ben was mentioned in despatches.

When time permits, Ben and Liza enjoy racing, walking and skiing.

Ben's Experience

Ben was first elected as MP for Lancaster and Wyre in May 2005 and then Wyre and Preston North in 2010.

Ben is honoured to serve the people of Wyre and Preston North. Since his election, Ben has assiduously represented the interests of his constituents in Parliament and locally. In 2008, he was awarded ‘Campaigner of the Year’ by The Spectator after leading calls for improved transparency and the reform of parliamentary expenses.

Ben was appointed Shadow Minister for Scotland in 2007, Assistant Government Whip in 2014, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Northern Ireland Office in 2015 and Minister of State for Security at the Home Office in 2016.
