Emma McClarkin

Emma was born and brought up in Stroud, Gloucestershire and was educated at her local grammar school, Stroud Girls High School. Emma graduated from Bournemouth University with a degree in Law and went on to work as a Legal Clerk in a law firm.

Prior to being elected to the European Parliament in 2009, Emma was working for the Rugby Football Union as their Government Relations Executive combining her passion for politics and rugby.

Outside of work Emma is a member of the British Wildlife Trust. Emma has focused her charitable efforts to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer with her family in memory of her mother who died of the disease.

Emma's interests include walking, the countryside, attending music concerts and photography. She also a keen rugby follower and captained the European Parliament's Touch Rugby team! Emma also enjoys skiing and kayaking when she can, but politics is her passion and most of the time Emma is keeping up to date with current affairs or supporting Party events!

Emma's Experience

Having been an activist for the Party from a young age, Emma has always been passionate about politics. After working in the Law she decided it was time to become more involved, and has been working for the Party in the East Midlands Region over the last six years both as Press Officer to the Conservative Party's East Midlands MEPs and as Political Advisor to Roger Helmer MEP in the European Parliament in Brussels.

In the European Parliament, Emma is currently ECR Group Coordinator and Conservative Spokesman on Culture and Education.
