Jeremy is Chairman of the National Convention. He has held a number of positions in the party including Vice President of the National Convention, Area Deputy Chairman for Northumberland and Tyne and Wear and Constituency Chairman. Jeremy was a Parliamentary Candidate in the 1997 general election, the 2004 European election and the 2004 Hartlepool by-election.
Jeremy’s background is in business. Together with his business partner he founded Homeserve plc, the listed assistance company which now employs 3,500 people. His early career was in marketing with Procter and Gamble, followed by a period running consultancy businesses. He now acts as a “business mentor” to several developing companies.
He is also an active voluntary worker for the Variety Club of Great Britain Northern Region and St Oswalds Hospice, as well as being an active charity fundraiser having run the Great North Run, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and walked to the North Pole to raise funds.
Jeremy is married to Catherine and they have 3 children.
