Angela lives in Upminster. She attended Wanstead county high school and Anglia University where she read public administration as a mature student.

She is divorced and has 1 son, 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.

Angela enjoys family life, crosswords and Sudoku, reading, especially crime and Dickens, good food and wine, theatre and ballet, countryside and the coast.

Angela Watkinson's Experience

Angela has previously been a councillor for the London Borough of Havering and for Essex County Council.

She enjoyed serving as a governor on five local schools until the time pressure on ministerial life made it impossible to continue.

In her first two parliaments, Angela served as an Opposition Whip, Shadow Education Minister and Shadow Local Government Minister. She is currently a Senior Whip and Lord Commissioner to the Treasury.
