Anne Marie Morris is a committed local campaigner who cares deeply about Teignbridge and its people. She lives in Newton Abbot with her partner Roger and two dogs, Darcy and Purdie and has local roots going back over 400 years. She believes that Britain needs change.
Anne Marie was born in 1957 and was educated at Bryanston, Dorset. She then studied law at Oxford University, before pursuing a legal career. She later moved into the field of marketing, working for several firms, before setting up her own business. She also studied and gained an MBA working with the Open University.
Her move into politics came after her step-father suffered a heart attack and ended up on a trolley in a hospital corridor. It was this that brought about Anne Marie's desire to change what wasn't working in the NHS.
Anne Marie was elected as a County Councillor on West Sussex County Council in 2005 and went on the chair the Council's Health Scrutiny Committee. In this role she took on Patricia Hewitt, challenging her health reforms and working with five local MPs to fight for high quality locally appropriate healthcare.
