Born in Nottingham in 1976, Jessica was the first person in her family to go onto university, reading history & politics at Royal Holloway, University of London. She was Chairman of the Conservative Association whilst at university. Jessica went on to study law and was Called to the Bar in 2000. Jessica now works as a barrister, specialising in family law.
Jessica worked on the 'Breakdown Britain' Report by the Centre for Social Justice, examining how the voluntary sector can assist in the area of family breakdown across the UK. Jessica also contributed to the 2007 Commission into Social Work review.
Jessica lives with her family in Erewash. In Jessica's (limited!) spare time, she enjoys reading historical books and novels, running, cooking, going to the theatre and European travel.
Jessica Lee's Experience
Jessica joined the Conservative Party in Nottingham when she was 15 years old. Since that time, Jessica has campaigned in numerous elections in the East Midlands and in London, including as a Lambeth Council candidate on three occasions, including a by-election.
Jessica has played a full role in the voluntary side of the party over the years, from being branch officer to Association Chairman.Jessica was a Conservative Candidate in the 2005 General Election, standing in the constituency of Camberwell & Peckham, against Harriet Harman

Employment - Jessica is campaigning for jobs and supporting small businesses in Erewash. The current recession has hit hard in the East Midlands and Jessica is supporting Conservative policies to get Britain working again and to stimulate credit into the economy.

Post Offices - Jessica has been campaigning to save local Post Offices which have been closed in recent times. This has been a blow to local and rural communities and has particularly impacted on elderly people.

Schools - Jessica is supporting local schools and is backing head teachers and staff to enforce discipline in the classroom.

Railway Station - Jessica is backing a proposal for a railway station at Ilkeston. This will help the local community and assist in encouraging investment and opportunities in Erewash.

Volunteering - Jessica supports volunteering as a great way for everyone, young and old, to put back into the local community and make a difference to where they live and work.
