Daniel Kawczynski's Experience
Daniel's involvement in the Conservative Party spans two decades. In 1991, he was elected Chairman of the University of Stirling Conservative Association. This position he held for two years in succession. He led his fellow Conservative students into battle at the 1992 General Election to help Michael Forsyth, Secretary of State for Scotland to retain his marginal seat.
He became actively involved with Ealing Southall Conservative Association whilst living in London in the late 1990s. Daniel stood at the 2001 General Election as Parliamentary Candidate in Ealing Southall and secured a 5% swing to the Conservatives. This enabled him to reduce the Socialist MP's majority by almost 8,000 votes.
He was elected as Member of Parliament in May 2005, at the age of 33. Daniel was appointed to the Agriculture Select Committee (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) in July 2005.
