Hart Simon

Simon was elected the Conservative Member of Parliament for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire in May 2010 with a majority of just over 3,400.

He is a member of the Commons Select Committee for Political and Constitutional Reform, the backbench Environment committee and several All Party Parliamentary Groups, including the Electoral Reform Group of which he is vice chairman.

Prior to being elected Simon was Chief Executive of the Countryside Alliance, Europe's largest rural affairs lobby group for seven years. He also previously worked as a chartered surveyor in Carmarthen and Haverfordwest and served with the Territorial Army for five years.

He is 47 and lives in Llanmill, near Narberth, with his wife and two young children who both go to Tavernspite CP School.
