After working in a variety of roles for the Post Office, he left to study law in 1995 and was called to the Bar in 1997.

Before his election to the London Assembly, Roger was part of a project team which launched the e-commerce site, Spring.com. In his spare time he is a keen swimmer and plays badminton.

Roger Evans' Experience

Roger was elected to Waltham Forest Council in 1990 and was leader of the opposition from 1994 to 1998.

His responsibilities in the London Assembly include:

·Deputy Chair of the Environment Committee.

·Member of the Transport Committee.

·Member of the Business Management and Appointments Committee.

·Chair of the Flooding Scrutiny Committee.

He was re-elected to the London Assembly in June 2004.
