I believe the most important role of an MP is to give a voice to local people.
I live in Colne, in the heart of our constituency. Before you elected me, I ran a small business in Greater Manchester, working long hours, six days a week. I’m not a career politician and understand the pressures hardworking people in Pendle face.
Since 2010, I’ve fought for a better deal for my fellow residents.
I’ve been a vocal champion for the aerospace sector in Pendle, frequently raising the concerns of local companies in Parliament. The manufacturing sector is vital to our local economy too and I’ve worked hard to help businesses create jobs and keep employment rising.
I’ve also campaigned for a council tax freeze. Under Labour, it rose above inflation year after year and hurt hardworking people. But in 2011, after years of campaigning, council tax was frozen – a victory for residents.
Since you elected me, I’ve worked tirelessly in our constituency and at Westminster. If you vote for me at the next election, I’ll work as hard as ever for you and your family.
