Today Chippenham Conservatives chose Michelle Donelan, as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the General Election scheduled for May 2015.
State educated and coming from 3 generations of small business owners, Michelle believes strongly in hard work and that everyone should have an equal shot at life. Michelle’s career in marketing has taken her to over 100 countries but now she’s focusing her efforts on how best to represent the people of Chippenham. She’s is a big believer in volunteering and has played a active role in her local volunteer centre.
Speaking following her selection Michelle said "I am delighted to be selected for a place that has so much in common with where I was raised. I am very excited about moving into, and starting work in, this beautiful constituency - campaigning for local residents and helping to secure and build on the area's successes. I want to make sure that the people of Chippenham, Melksham, Corsham, and Bradford on Avon have a loud and effective long-term voice in both Wiltshire and Westminster. I will be campaigning to make sure that everyone gets the same opportunities and services, whether they live in towns, villages or in the country. We must do all we can to boost our local town and village economies."
A seasoned campaigner with over a decade of experience fight for the Conservative Party she took on former Labour Minister John Healey in 2010 and achieved an above average swing in what was considered a rock-solid Labour seat.
