A HAMPSTEAD councillor has been selected as the Conservative Party's Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Hampstead and Kilburn.
Simon Marcus, who also represented the party in 2010 in the Barking constituency, currently works as an advisor to small businesses in the property, publishing and fitness sectors.
As well as his business interests Mr Marcus also advises on alternative education, gangs communications and strategy and has worked with the Centre for Social Justice, Civitas, Centre for Policy Studies, Policy Exchange and the Department for Education.
In 2011 he was appointed by the Prime Minister to the Independent Riots Communities and Victims Panel, the government enquiry into the causes and solutions to the August riots in 2011.
Speaking of his priorities Mr Marcus said he would focus on education, law and order and the economy, adding: "I grew up in this constituency, lived here most of my life and now represent Hampstead Town as a councillor leading campaigns to help local people."
