Cabinet Ministers are visiting towns across the North of England today, calling on sites of industry, transport and business to hear how the government’s plans are helping those in the region.
Following the regional Cabinet meeting this morning in Leeds, Secretaries of State will be travelling to the North West, North East, Yorkshire and the Humber and the East Midlands.
The visits come on the day that the government announces its plans for the second phase of HS2, the high speed rail line that will connect Northern business hubs Leeds and Manchester to the cities of Birmingham and London.
