Party Chairman Grant Shapps today visited Corby and East Northamptonshire to support the Conservative candidate Christine Emmett and Northamptonshire PCC candidate Adam Simmonds.

Grant, Christine and Adam were campaigning in Corby and Thrapston along with David Sims, the Leader of Corby Council's Conservative group.

This was on the day five cabinet ministers joined over a dozen other MPs campaigning across England and Wales for Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner candidates. Theresa May, Eric Pickles, Chris Grayling, David Jones and Grant Shapps are amongst the MPs who were pounding the pavements today.

Grant Shapps said:

“Conservative ministers and MPs are out across the country today, spreading the word about these important elections. Police and Crime Commissioners will be the public champions in the fight against crime - binning Whitehall bureaucracy and returning power to communities.

“Today I'm out on the ground in Corby and East Northamptonshire with our fantastic team of activists, fighting for every vote.”
