Sayeeda Warsi's Easter Message

I want to send my very best wishes to everyone this Easter.

This is an incredibly special time for the millions of Christians in Britain and across the world celebrating the resurrection of Christ.

It is also a time that people of all faiths and none can come together to celebrate the themes of renewal, of rebirth and of hope.

The teachings of Jesus Christ – of compassion, of love, of fairness – have made a profound impact on our society, and continue to shine through our actions, our culture and our practices today.

The Conservative Party recognises and appreciates that Britain stronger and more vibrant nation because of its Christian religious heritage.

Therefore I am delighted the Prime Minister held the first ever Easter Reception at Downing Street last year and has done so again this year.

So once again, on behalf of the Conservative Party, I want to wish everyone a very Happy Easter.
