Liverpool businessman Tony Caldeira has been selected as the Conservative Party's Mayoral candidate for Liverpool.
Speaking after his selection, Tony said: "As someone who lives in Liverpool, and started his business in Liverpool, I am greatly honoured to have been selected as the Conservative Party's Mayoral candidate.
"As a local businessman I understand the needs of Liverpool residents and I will campaign for the jobs and investment our great city needs"
Co-chairman of the Conservative Party, Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, said: “Tony has always been a strong Conservative voice for Liverpool and as a local businessman I know he will fight for the city’s interests if elected.
“Elected mayors provide cities with the strong, visible leadership that can help them prosper nationally and internationally, and I know that Tony is the right person for the job in Liverpool”
