Conservative Party co-Chairman Sayeeda Warsi has sent her best wishes to the Chinese community at the start of the Year of the Dragon.
Baroness Warsi said:
'I want to send my very best wishes to everyone celebrating the beginning of the Chinese New Year.
'It is a very special time for the thousands of British Chinese seeing out the Year of the Rabbit and welcoming in the Year of the Dragon – a year which is going to be very important for this country.
'The themes of this Spring Festival – of good fortune, happiness, wealth and longevity – are themes with which we can all identify, while the fireworks, parades and displays are something all communities can come together and share.
'Chinese New Year also gives us an opportunity to reflect on our strong relationship with China, as well as the enormous contribution many of its people bring to the communities, economy, academia and culture of Britain.
'So on behalf of the Conservative Party, I would like to send my very best wishes to everyone who is celebrating, both here and abroad.'
