The Prime Minister and government ministers have joined thousands of people gathering at the Cenotaph to pay tribute to Britain’s armed forces.
Millions will today remember the bravery of troops in conflicts around the world.
Conservative Party co-Chairman Sayeeda Warsi said: ‘Today we commemorate the sacrifices made by millions to defend our freedom.
‘At the front of our minds is their bravery and the courage of all who have fought and died for our country.
‘They gave their lives for us, and today we remember them.’
