More than 14 million people are believed to have been affected by the worst floods to hit Pakistan for 80 years, and at least 1,600 people have died. The monsoon rains show little sign of abating.
The Disaster Emergency Committee have opened the 'DEC Pakistan Floods Appeal'. The money raised will support the efforts of the DEC's members who represent the UK's leading aid agencies.
Conservative Party Co-Chairman Baroness Warsi said, "Britain is an incredibly compassionate and generous nation. The best way for you to help, if you haven't already, is to donate directly to the Disaster Emergency Committee. Whether you can afford to give £5 or £500, it all makes a difference."
And she added, "In the meantime, I know our thoughts and prayers are with all those people who have suffered so much over the last few days."
