Shadow Transport Secretary Theresa Villiers says that British Airways needs the planned strikes "like a hole in the head".
News reports suggest that British Airways faces losing £30m a day due to industrial action by members of the union Unite.
Villiers said the cabin crew unions are "damaging the interests of their members by pressing ahead with this strike and inflicting major financial damage on BA".
She added that the union needs to "wake up to the realities of the 21st century aviation industry", and recognise "the intense competitive pressure BA faces from no frills airlines with much more modern working practices".
Theresa is the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport. She spends much of her time travelling round the country by public transport.
