Britain urgently needs new economic leadership

Friday, October 23 2009

George Osborne

George Osborne has described news that Britain’s economy has now contracted for six consecutive quarters as “deeply disappointing”.

The Shadow Chancellor said that, with the country suffering its deepest and longest recession in modern history, there can now be no confidence in Gordon Brown’s economic policies.

He explained that the Prime Minister’s recession plan has clearly not worked, with our economy still shrinking a full six months after France and Germany’s started growing.

George said that Britain “urgently needs new economic leadership”, and he added:

“We need a Conservative Government to Get Britain Working again."
