Rain did not 'stop play' for Conservatives at the Liskeard Show

Sheryll Murray, Conservative Prospective MP for South East Cornwall, paid tribute to the Organisers of the Liskeard Show on Saturday for their organisation despite the adverse weather conditions.

Continuous and sometimes heavy rain fell throughout the day which meant the show was not as well attended as in previous years but there was still a steady stream of visitors.

Sheryll was joined by fellow Conservatives including Councillor Bernie Ellis, the Cornwall Councillor for the Merrymeet Showground area and they were overwhelmed with the public response to their stand and surprised at the number of people who want to see a change of the National political scene and David Cameron as the next Prime Minister.

After the show Sheryll said, "I was so impressed with the professional way the Show was organised and this is a real tribute to the Organisers who kept events flowing throughout the day despite the weather conditions. All of the people who visited us at the Conservative Stand were in good spirits despite being wet and whilst there were still a good number of visitors, it was such a pity that numbers were not as many as in other dryer years."

Sheryll, who has helped man the Conservative Stand for a number of previous years and accompanied the then Shadow Minister Bill Wiggin MP to the show 2 years ago continued, "The Liskeard Show is an important event for South East Cornwall.  I will be passing on the many comments and good wishes we received onto our shadow team so they know about the tremendous support our Party now has throughout the Constituency. This really bodes well for the future for the Conservatives."
