David Cameron has today voluntarily paid money back to the House of Commons Fees Office following a careful review of his expenses claims.
The items which are being repaid were discovered as a result of a thorough review by David Cameron’s office, not as a result of media enquiries.
In a letter to the Director of Operations at the House of Commons, David wrote that his office had discovered a number of overpayments which he wanted to rectify.
The total amount that David has offered to repay, which includes £680 for a series of household repairs that David had already announced that he would repay, comes to £947.29.
