Eric Pickles, the Chairman of the Conservatives, has sent his best wishes to Christians, Sikhs and Jews celebrating the festivals of Vaisakhi, Pesach and Easter this April.
He stressed the "profound significance" of these festivals for their respective communities in Britain.
"These festivals bring together people from different religions and backgrounds, and demonstrate the spirit of goodwill between the communities of faith in our country. They provide us with an opportunity to celebrate our shared values of tolerance, respect for diversity and inclusiveness."
Eric said we should be proud of the "fantastic contribution that faith communities make to the rich fabric of British society" - and stressed:
"These festivals help to remind us of the value of faith, and I am delighted to take this opportunity to wish everyone celebrating Easter, Pesach or Vaisakhi a happy and enjoyable time."
