Bourne announces changes to Welsh Conservative team

Nick Bourne, Welsh Conservative leader, has announced changes to the front bench team in the National Assembly, saying, "These changes bring a fresh perspective to our vitally important role of scrutinising the Labour-Plaid Assembly Government and its policies."

Nick stressed, "Welsh Conservatives take our role as the Assembly's official opposition very seriously. This is a strong team and a team which I believe will build on the work of recent years and one which will help us meet the many challenges ahead."

The front bench team is:

In addition, the following other changes have been made:

  • Cardiff North AM Jonathan Morgan will be nominated as chair of the Assembly's influential audit committee.
  • Darren Millar AM will be nominated as chair of the health, well-being and local government committee. 
  • Angela Burns AM will continue in her role as chair of the finance committee.
  • Alun Cairns AM will also work alongside David Melding AM as a spokesman on the economy.
  • South Wales East AM William Graham will assume a backbench role.
