Andrew Mitchell has said the launch of the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal for the Democratic Republic of Congo could make a “real difference”.
The Shadow International Development Secretary has just returned from a trip to Goma, which is in the east of the DR Congo.
And he said, “As I’ve seen for myself in the last few days, the humanitarian position of the 65,000 people holed up in Kibati camp between the two front lines, principally women and children, is truly terrible. This appeal can make a real difference to their plight.”
You can find out more about the appeal, and make a donation, at www.dec.org.uk.
