David Cameron has welcomed the agreement between the Conservatives and the Ulster Unionists in Northern Ireland.
He said that the new political force offers the people of Northern Ireland “a new choice” and allows them participate fully in political life both in Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom.
Owen Paterson, the Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, added that the agreement would give influence to all voters “on the crucial day-to-day issues such as taxation, pensions and the economy”.
He also announced that a new joint committee will be created, drawing upon senior representatives from both Parties.
David was elected Leader of the Conservatives in December 2005, on a mandate to change the Party and change the country.
