Theresa Villiers has called on the Government to scrap their plans to build a third runway at Heathrow.
The Shadow Transport Secretary said Labour are “on the wrong side of the argument” as new documents released under the Freedom of Information Act showed that ministers are planning to water down EU pollution curbs in order to allow the third runway at Heathrow.
Theresa said, “These revelations are further worrying proof that the Government is set on building a third runway regardless of the impact it will have on the environment, quality of life and public health.”
And she stressed, “The Government's own advisers at the Environment Agency have warned about the 'increased morbidity and mortality' that could be caused by pollution from a third runway.”
Theresa is the Shadow Secretary of State for Transport. She spends much of her time travelling round the country by public transport.
