Liam Fox has attacked the Government’s “reckless approach” to military personnel data after a hard drive containing the details of around 100,000 Armed Forces members went missing.
The Shadow Secretary of State for Defence said, “The MoD has a very poor record on keeping sensitive and classified data secure. This latest scandal is yet another example of poor operational security within the department.”
Liam stressed that “for very obvious personal and national security reasons” the MoD must handle the records of Armed Forces personnel with the utmost care.
And he said, “Once again, the loss of so much confidential information shows the reckless approach this Government takes with our personal information.”
Liam is the Shadow Secretary of State for Defence. He worked as a Civilian Army Medical Officer and a GP before becoming an MP.
