George Osborne has pledged a major shake-up to “restore trust in the tax system” and end Gordon Brown's stealth tax regime.
A report published by the former Chancellor, Lord Howe, has recommended that major changes to the tax system be published at least six months before they are introduced.
George said that the proposed changes would mean that Government “will no longer be able to bury the bad news in the small print”.
And he promised, "A Conservative Government will restore trust in the tax system so that businesses and individuals can work, save and invest with confidence."
