Chris Grayling has warned against the rise of “Frank Gallagher-style parenting” and stressed the need to revive good parenting skills in Britain.
In a speech to the Reform think tank, the Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary said:
“In too many parts of our society, responsible parenting and good parenting experience is disappearing.”
He argued that the type of parenting done by Frank Gallagher in the TV show ‘Shameless’ must not become the norm, and called for a large improvement in parenting skills generally.
And he said the Conservatives should help lone parents rather than stigmatize them.
