The Civic Democrats held their annual Congress in Prague. During the Congress Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek reiterated his Party’s support for the Movement for European Reform, and its commitment to a more flexible and outward-looking European Union. The Congress was also addressed by Conservative Party Europe spokesman Graham Brady MP, who said that the EU must reform if it was to meet the new challenges of the twenty first century.
