Adrian Gibbard is a young disabled man who lives in a single-storey house in Pittville, Cheltenham. Despite being largely confined to a wheelchair for mobility, he is very positive in outlook and makes a great contribution to his community.
Unfortunately, he has been unable to access his garden since he moved in a year ago due to it being completely overgrown – so myself and a team of volunteers decided to do something about it.
As part of the Conservatives' Social Action scheme, we hacked back the weeds, planted shrubs and fruit trees, painted the fence and laid down a patio over the course of several weekends.
So now, thanks to a bit of elbow grease and some kind donations from local building firms and garden centres, Adrian can enjoy his garden at last!
