Become part of Social Action today. Do your bit to create social change.
We believe that there is such a thing as society; it's just not the same thing as the state.
And the best way to demonstrate this is through Social Action rather than just words. Individuals across the country make fantastic contributions to their communities through small-scale, local voluntary action.
Our aim is to emulate their example by setting up, learning from and supporting Social Action projects to help transform struggling communities. And we need your support to make our projects a success.
Message from Sayeeda Warsi
"Social Action involves millions of people doing millions of things that make a real difference to their community every day. It is how we can all create social change within our society. I like to think of it as doing your bit or mucking in, however small the action, it all adds up to changing your community for the better.
"We are all in this together so let’s work together to harness the power of social action and strengthen our society!"
Sayeeda Warsi is Shadow Minister for Community Cohesion and Social Action. Baroness Warsi is also a member of the Shadow Cabinet and House of Lords.
How to get involved
1. Conference project
- Each year we run a large-scale project at our Party Conference
- We are always looking for volunteers to help out - see the Conference Handbook for details or visit the information stand.
2. Local projects
- Many of our local Associations and candidates run Social Action projects in their areas - and they're always on the look out for volunteers
- Contact your local Association to see if there is a project in your area.
3. Set up your own project
- The more grassroots projects there are, the more likely it is for communities to flourish.
- Perhaps there are specific issues in your area which you think you would like to address - and if so, we'd be delighted if you set up your own Social Action project.
