Social Action Manager

Summary

The Party is seeking to recruit a Social Action Manager, responsible for creating and executing campaigning activity at constituency and national level. The successful candidate will work with the Vice-Chairman responsible for Social Action and develop relationships throughout the Party in order to expand and develop the success of Social Action projects in recent years.

Description:

An important aspect of this role will be to forge links with third parties and develop ways of engaging sections of the electorate disinterested in conventional politics. 

Working closely with the Voluntary Party and the campaigning team at CCHQ, the Social Action Manager will assist and encourage constituency associations, local councillors and candidates to embrace Social Action projects as an essential part of campaigning.  The role will also include:

  • The production of resources and campaigning materials relating to Social Action;
  • Responsibility for the organisation of set-piece social action projects , for example at Party Conference; engaging the participation of senior Party figures and exploiting all related media opportunities;
  • Guiding and advising local activists about setting up Social Action projects, promoting them locally and utilising success stories and promoting best practice. 

The Social Action Manager must be in a position to stay overnight away from home.
