Regional Campaign Manager, North of Scotland
The Scottish Conservative Central Office is currently recruiting for the position of Regional Campaign Manager (North of Scotland).
Reporting directly to the Scottish Field Director the Regional Campaign Manager will be responsible for front-line campaigning in all constituencies in the North of Scotland, Highlands and Islands, and will be based in two offices, Aberdeen and Inverness. They will be responsible for Scottish Parliamentary and Local Government elections. They will communicate with the associations they operate for their benefit and will be aware of the delicate nature of the autonomous position of associations and elected officers. Applicants will be expected to be a car owner and have a full driving licence.
The key to this role is flexibility as it is envisaged that the role will change frequently according to political and campaigning priorities as this parliament evolves; working hours will, of necessity, be varied and flexible. This role is ideally suited to experienced and ambitious on-the -ground campaigners who enjoy a wide-ranging role and have the ability to manage a number of campaigning projects at any one time.
The role will also include:
Developing relations with all associations through regular contact by telephone, email and regular visits to association offices and to report any operational/personnel difficulties immediately to the Scottish Field Director
Attending regular meetings with association campaign teams to ensure campaigning is taking place on the ground - delivery of leaflets, canvassing, tele-canvassing
Attending association meetings on a regular basis and ensuring that they are familiarised to all key personnel and activists in their area
Campaigning for Conservative votes in non-target areas where the 2nd vote in Scottish Parliamentary and Local Government elections are needed
Providing a campaign base for every election across the region (Scottish Parliament, European, Westminster and Local Government)
Overseeing the selection of a full slate of Local Government candidates in every seat
Ensuring production of regular direct mail over the region
Producing a monthly report to the Scottish Field Director on all campaigning activity, broken down by constituency and to keep in constant contact with other SCCO staff
Organising action days and mutual aid for target seats
Providing a focus for associations for their campaign activity both during and outside of election periods
