Political Adviser

Summary

Conservative Campaign Headquarters (CCHQ) is seeking to recruit a Political Adviser reporting to the Director of Policy and Research, working within the Conservative Research Department.

Description:

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Researching political stories for print and broadcast media.
  • Producing political briefing.
  • Analysing political activity and producing relevant material in response.
  • Liaising with and supporting other Political Advisers and Special Advisers.
  • Production of material for field campaigning and election activity.
  • Providing general political output and one-off new media projects.

Candidates are required to have:

  • Excellent political judgement and an instinct for political stories.
  • The ability to work independently to produce material of a political nature.
  • Highly developed research and analytical skills.
  • Highly developed written and spoken communication skills.
  • A good understanding of print and broadcast media.
  • A commitment to the Conservative Party.
  • A very good degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of news generation, whether in public relations, Parliament or the media, would be an advantage.
