Organising Secretary


Edinburgh South West Conservative & Unionist Association is recruiting the following part time position (0.5 FTE, 20 hours), for an initial period of six months from February 2013. The position will be based at the Association Offices in Colinton, Edinburgh.


This position would be responsible to the Chairman and Executive Committee of the Association. Salary in the range of £16,640-£19,760 (pro-rata) dependant on experience.

Edinburgh South West Conservative & Unionist Association is a vibrant and active organisation. The individual who applies for this position has to be self-motivated as they will be the only employed member of staff.  Key duties will include:

  • Administration of the campaign plan as directed by the Executive Committee
  • Liaison with volunteers, councillors, Regional MSPs and elected Officers
  • Practical office general administration
  • Print logistics
  • Practical support out and about in constituency
  • Assisting with visits from MPs/MSPs and fundraising events
  • Literature distribution administration
  • Liaison with suppliers
  • Electoral database management
  • Financial administration
  • Membership administration
